Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we a have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

Romans 5:1

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

‭‭Romans‬ 8:35-39

So you think that God can’t talk to you? In fact every time that He is clearly speaking to you, it is a spontaneous reaction to almost reject His voice. It is not the idea that you don’t believe the Lord speaks to people but rather the idea that He couldn’t possibly be speaking to you. You consider yourself redeemed but not worthy, cleansed by the blood but too dirty because it is you—the one with the past like no one else’s, the only one with too many sins and constant failures. So why is this so? Just a straight up lie; insecurity has been used since the beginning. Yes, that very beginning—because after all, didn’t you know that from that very beginning you were on His mind. Wait I forgot that couldn’t have been you because you are after all too insignificant. God must have been thinking of every one else but you. Surprise! Someone lied to you. The question now remains: are you willing to work out your salvation and figure it out not just by knowing but by believing it to your very core? Knowing what? The truth that nothing you have done can separate you from His love? Can sin keep you apart? Yes indeed, but grace draws you close. So, can God speak to little old you? Yes! You might ask yourself how I know this. Well, I looked in the mirror and saw me. It sounds crazy coming from a physically blind woman. But I have news for you; I may be physically blind but I’m no longer spiritually blind nor bound. Walk with me a while and I’ll tell you a story. Walk, I say! Walk, with a wheelchair-bound woman who is barely now learning to walk longer distances, with a walker no less. Yes, walk with me because guess what? I walk by faith and not by sight and that one set of footprints you see in the sand—that is all me, with Him caring me, of course. I used to love to walk and run in the sand, chasing my twin girls all over the place, and soon I will again. I invite you to sit down with me for a while and take a load off. Inhale deep gulps of fresh air. Yes, indeed take deep breaths of air with me, a woman now oxygen-bound. You know why I invite you to do all this with me? Because He talks to me and He says I am whole. In fact this very day He talked to me through these above mentioned scriptures. You may be a sceptic. Trust me, I was as well. But I am no longer. Sit with me for a while and I will tell you why!
