The past few months have been quite eventful. We moved, which was a big change for us. I have been struggling with usual health conditions, and was hoping to get a promising new medical therapy, but sadly haven’t been able to.

So much has happened. About two months ago, I received a call from my middle sister. She was in an ambulance, and relayed to me that she was having a heart attack. She asked me to let both my mom and older sister know. I never imagined this would happen- let alone that I’d be the one tasked with telling our family. In the end, she needed open-heart surgery and is still on the road to recovery. Needless to say, we have needed to trust God not only with my own health, but with my family’s.

I got to thinking about Sarah and Elizabeth in the Bible. Both were unable to conceive. It is interesting how both of the husbands, each in the same predicament, reacted. Abraham tries to help God by impregnating his wife’s servant. Zechariah is in disbelief when the angel of the Lord tells him about the child he is to have, and subsequently loses his speech because of his unbelief. The promise at times must seem delayed—but it surely comes.

I got to thinking. Imagine if every time I doubted the Lord, I lost my speech. My ability to tell Him just how I feel. Those times when as humans, we wonder how much longer we must wait. How much longer will the promise be delayed? I thank God for His patience towards me at every crossroad. He who began a good work will surely complete it.
